Description:
  • Dating violence is a serious problem that affects substantial numbers of young people. This article presents a treatment approach for women in violent relationships drawn from the authors' clinical experiences and from data gathered through a qualitative study of women who left violent dating relationships. The goals of intervention include helping the client ensure her own safety; gain a larger perspective on her situation; and develop appropriate boundaries between herself, her partner, and her outside support system.
